Take It Off, Baby

Coat by Asos (now on sale!), Tunic by Ya available at Mary, boots from J. Crew, necklace from Banana Republic, clutch from TJ Maxx

I would like to take a moment to use this blog to thank the style gods for a good Camel coat, big sunnies, and red lipstick.

Now that that's over, let's move on to this tunic. I'm predicting shoulder cut-outs to be one of the biggest trends for SS 12. The problem lies in looking like a lady and not a body builder. Lucky for me, this tunic is so perfect I might have worn it three days last week. Speaking of which, I'm off to the cleaners.

Casual Friday

Gap jeans, Gifted t-shirt, Urban Outfitters sweater and shoes, Zara bag, Forever 21 scarf (c/o LB), ASOS ring, Fossil watch

You know it is a good day when you are wearing a t-shirt with mustaches on it. It has been unusually warm in Knoxville this week. We are talking high's in the 60's. In JANUARY! What? My point is this sweater is really warm, like a little too warm for 60 degree weather. Also today is the first day in a week that it hasn't been raining. Never been so happy.

This post it reminiscent of awkward small talk. Let's talk about the weather. Happy Friday!

Balancing Acts

Gap Tee, Banana Republic jeans (similar), Ecote jacket via Urban Outfitters (on huge sale!), Dolce Vita shoes via Piperlime

Sometimes I balance on one leg like a flamingo for your viewing pleasure. Ohh the things I do for you. Happy Tuesday - at least it's not Monday!

On a Paisley Day

Forever 21 tunic and clutch, gifted scarf, Office boots, Ettika bracelet featured here
Tricked you! This dreary seemingly European city isn't in Brussels. No, it's just Knoxville. Okay, so you probably didn't think it was Europe, but a girl can dream. Maybe the weather will cooperate for our photoshoot tomorrow? Again, a girl can dream.

Back to the point, I'm obsessed with this tunic. Take off those boots and leggings and add flat sandals. Voila! Summer outfit in a pinch. Who doesn't love a little paisley?

Not so Mellow Yellow

Collective Concepts dress, Old Navy vest, Gap belt, Forever 21 clutch and tights, Target booties,  JCrew and Banana Republic bracelets & ring

You might think - neon yellow belt, not practical. Well, you are wrong. I wore it approximately twice a week during the summer, so needless to say I was really excited to incorporate it into a cold weather outfit. Also, I suggest to get up and immediately go to Forever 21 and buy these tights. They are like sweaters for your legs. Who doesn't love that? Exactly.

Pretty in Pink

Plenty by Tracy Reese coat, Top from Anthropologie, Pants from Forever 21, Bag from Francesca's, Watch and booties by Asos

So this is my go-to outerwear piece. Awesome, right? My sweet mother tracked it down all the way from San Francisco to give me for Christmas 2010. Also, since I know she's reading this: Hi, mom! I told you these leather pants were cute.

Anyway, I get more compliments on this coat than anything else that I own. So the next time you're wondering whether or not to go with basic black, you know what I'd suggest.

Confession

If you know me, than you know that when it comes to clothes my motto is the more pattern, print, or color the better. When it comes to prints, I have one main vice - stripes. I LOVE stripes, whether they be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, chevron or a combination of all four. Confession - I once found the perfect striped tee and I may or may not have bought it in 4 color combination's. Eek! Is that too many? Well, with all this being said I almost died when I discovered Kate Spade's pinterest. One board is called "live colorfully- year of pattern." In the words of Rachel Zoe, I die. Obviously you can just hop on over to everyone's favorite website and see these gems yourself, but I thought I would show you a few of my favorite images - all about stripes!

School Daze Part Two

Here I with my planner. Very studious.
Classes are no excuse to not wear at least five accessories.
Leggings and Men's flannel from Target, Forever 21 scarf, Hunter boots, Banana Republic bag, Vintage scarf

I tell pretty much anyone who will listen about how I scored these boots for $35 at French's Boots in Murfreesboro. Seriously, if you're in Middle Tennessee it's worth the drive. They have all sorts of steals in their back room. And it's lucky that I found them since it's gross in Knoxville for 80% of November-March. Chic.

Much like SB, I also heavily rely on Men's clothing for class. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the Men's section in Target is unbeatable for your ideal hungover lazy Friday outfit.

School Daze

Gap Tee (men's) and scarf, Express jeans, Old Navy sweater (men's), Missoni for Target flats, Lucky Brand glasses, Tano bag

In honor (or mourning) of school starting back tomorrow, LB and I thought we would show you typical school day outfits. It wasn't very realistic that we were walking around campus and going to class in dresses and heels, so here you go. Clearly my class outfits just consist of men's clothing.

PS. The men's section at Gap has a really awesome selection of graphic tee's. You should check it out.

London Calling

Blouse by ASOS, Skirt and bag from Topshop, Bomber jacket from H&M, shoes by Office (available Here), Hue tights

I purchased all of these items in the land of the Queen, and Will still didn't want to marry me. Weird, I know. In related news, I bought these shoes in 2010, but they brought them back this season for all of you to adore! Also, ASOS has a great sale going on, and free international shipping. Hop to it!

Caped

Collective Concepts dress via Piperlime, Forever 21 cape, Hue tights, Michael Antonio booties, Forever 21 cuffs and clutch, H&M rings

I spun around in 5 inch wedges, just so I could show you the fun things you can do in a cape. Do I really need to say more than that?

Also LB and I apologize for the sporadic posts recently. Regularly stationed programming to return Monday. What can I say...we are just still in the holiday spirit. And by spirit I mean we have been lying around in outfits deemed not acceptable for the public.

Fresh

So while everyone else is making sensible resolutions I could never keep, i.e. going to the gym everyday, swearing off McDonalds and full-calorie beer, I thought I might come up with a few style and beauty resolutions for 2012. You know, reasonable goals.

Wear more false eyelashes. So fun.

Try out neon accessories to brighten up those drab days in February. Bag available at Nasty Gal.

Be more adventurous with layering. Photo from Fashion Indie.

Buy more investment pieces. This Chloe bag may still be a tinge extravagant, but should you be loaded it is available at Net-a-Porter.
More cheetah. Duh. Happy new year!
