Gypsy Lady

Audrey skirt, thrifted sweater, Urban Outfitters flats, gifted necklace, vintage bracelets, Etro for Topshop bag

This outfit echos the end of summer. I picked up the skirt and sweater on a recent trip to LA to visit an old friend. I've been lucky enough to make fabulous friends who reside in interesting places. It's the best way to vacation. I spent the whole first day wandering around West Hollywood stumbling into gem after gem of shops.

I wear these bracelets constantly. They might as well become an extension of my body. My grandmother (the diva) picked them up on an Indian reservation on her way to California for the first time. Which sort of makes the whole outfit come full circle. She went on to move to California on two separate occasions, a daring move for a woman from Tennessee in the late 40s/early 50s. Hopefully when I'm her age (90 next month!) I'll still be echoing her style and showing up to Thanksgiving dinner in a purple pea coat.

Me in the same outfit seeing the pacific for the first time
