So while everyone else is making sensible resolutions I could never keep, i.e. going to the gym everyday, swearing off McDonalds and full-calorie beer, I thought I might come up with a few style and beauty resolutions for 2012. You know, reasonable goals.

Wear more false eyelashes. So fun.

Cheetah Cheetah, Duh

I actually wore this outfit about a month ago. It would no longer be appropriate because it is currently 37 degrees outside, but I could add a sweater and jacket and be good to go. There is not much to say about this outfit, so I am going to end with my favorite statement: What's an outfit without a little (or a lot of) cheetah?

Cheap and Chic

So this outfit cost less than $100! It may be an ode to Forever 21, but let's break it down anyway. 

Simple Forever 21 t-shirt dress for $12. It's basic, but easy to use in layering. (similar) 

Booties for $30. Say what?! And they're still available here.

Scarf for eight bucks. But I also love this cheetah one at Urban.

H&M pleather "vegan leather" jacket for $40. Target has a similar one here.

Tights also via our fave Swedish retailer. (No, not Ikea.) Here for your viewing pleasure.

Sass-a-Frass

So, this outfit is a little sassy. But I think we're all in agreement that this jacket is more or less EVERYTHING. With the weather finally making it socially acceptable to don a little fur I think this cheetah print miracle of a garment will be making all sorts of appearances in my weekend ensembles. And with Halloween right around the corner, these wedges are my own little play on witch shoes. I like the idea of keeping the rest or the pieces simple and letting the jacket shine, but I'm ready to delve into some mixed-print action next.

Versatility

When I bought this skirt at Banana Republic a few weeks ago, I was dying for cooler weather because unfortunately October in Tennessee usually means lows in the 70's. I was determined to adapt this skirt to the warmer weather without making it look too summery. I was also wanting a more casual, everyday use for the skirt and the military jacket was my solution. I am honestly really surprised at the versatility of this sequined skirt. I cannot wait to wear it with black tights and black booties (weather permitting) for a dressier look!


Also, I never find cute shoes at Gap, but while I was in NYC this summer (visiting the other writer of The Trendy) I found these. I love them because they are a fun alternative to classic nude heels. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Gap always has the most ridiculous sales so they were a steal! I had to throw the scarf on...because what's an outfit without a little cheetah?
