Seven Things

Gold cuffs - going wear one on each arm (inspired by Emily and Blair)

My weekend was crazy and filled with driving between Knoxville and Louisville, but I managed to find seven things that made my weekend a little more fun. Also I was surprised at how much I loved Louisville (I cannot believe I am saying this) and now I am very excited about grad school!

Clutch, Scarf, and Red jeans all from Forever 21. Obviously my mom and I were scoping out the shopping in Louisville this weekend and we stumbled upon the largest Forever 21 I have ever been to!

Fun alarm clock that makes waking up a little easier.

Teal and Glitter nails that I have gotten tons of compliments on! Teal nail polish from Old Navy and Glitter from Forever 21.

My favorite painting that I made in my Painting I class that is so heavy we can't hang it on the wall.

Peyton Manning jersey that I got to see when on a tour of Neyland Stadium!

Fun bear hat that we found at Mast General Store in Knoxville!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Have a Colorful Weekend

While LB is off to Nashville to play and shop her time away, I am excitedly off to Kentucky to consider furthering my education. Ironic, I know. I am hoping to get my masters in Art Therapy, so these four (and a half) years of working toward a Bachelors in Studio Art are not a complete waste. I thought I would share with you some of my recent work. I have been making watercolors or oil paintings and then photographing them in various stages of completion. Initially my idea was for these photographs to serve as inspiration for future paintings. I would love to hear what you think about this work!

Here are just a few examples of my work. These are all of watercolor paintings. I also did this project using film, so I might show that next (maybe the oil paintings too). Hope you enjoy and have a fun and colorful weekend!
See you Monday!

"How can a finished citizen be made in an artless town?"
-Basil V. Jones

Whether we realize it or not, we are constantly surrounded by some form of art. We put pieces together to create outfits the same way painters put shapes and colors together to create works of art. In fashion, just like in painting, there are many styles and all these styles are beautiful in their own way. That's what this blog is about -- finding beauty in everything that we do.

Let's dress up, make art and enjoy the beauty of everyday life.
